Che Concepts is a luxury lifestyle management company that provides a range of services to save the client time and provide quality lifestyle solutions. Lifestyle management is becoming increasingly popular amongst business executives who just ‘do not have the time’ to mark off the tick boxes on their ‘to do lists’. Mologadi ‘Molly’ Moshapo founded Che Concepts lifestyle management in 2009. Molly is a qualified quantity surveyor with years of experience in construction and project management. Molly found herself consulting to and assisting friends and family with their personal tasks on a part-time basis. She would organise friends and families’ weddings and gatherings, which led to more and more people approaching her for assistance in every aspect of their days. This prompted Molly to create Che Concepts, which provided an opportunity to utilise her organisational and project management skills. With her passion for people and service, lifestyle management became the perfect fit for Molly and allowed her to flourish creatively. Molly lives by the motto, ‘Perfection personified!’

Research In Motion (RIM), the company behind the BlackBerry® solution, recently appointed Alexandra Zagury as Vice President and Managing Director of its operations in South Africa and Southern Africa. Although she is the first woman to hold the position in this country, Alexandra does not believe gender is an important factor in determining success. “I am aware that the telecommunications industry in South Africa has traditionally been male-dominated, but I don’t foresee this being an issue for me and I am looking forward to overseeing all of RIM’s operations, sales and marketing efforts in these regions,” she says. Alexandra joined RIM more than four years ago, where she was based in the United Kingdom and was responsible for the regional strategy planning and business operations for Europe Middle Eastern and Africa. She became the company’s first managing director in Turkey, where she successfully grew RIM’s business.

The Diners Experience

Over the past 20 years, the card industry has relied on the same tactics and incentives to drive consumers, competing on two basic premises: rewards and consumption. This race to differentiate based on rewards has only led to greater homogenisation. A global brand with a proud heritage – it all began in 1949 when businessman Frank McNamara arranged a dinner with guests at Major’s Cabin Grill restaurant. Once dinner was over, Frank realised he had left his wallet in his other suit. Fortunately, the restaurant owner knew him and let him leave his business card as an IOU. He resolved never to face this embarrassment again. In February 1950, Frank McNamara and his partner Ralph Schneider returned to Major’s Cabin Grill. When the bill came, Frank presented a small cardboard card, a Diners Club Card, and signed for the meal. In the card industry, this event is known as the First Supper, and, in 1955, the Diners Club Card became the first charge card accepted by airlines. Since then, Diners Club International has grown into a highly respected global brand with a proud heritage as the world’s first charge card. The Diners Club Card is issued in more than 200 countries and is accepted by 14-million establishments around the world and in South Africa.
